Work with Contracting Managers in the delivery and support of the GLS product strategy with a key focus on strengthening commercial acumen, travel procurement experience and knowledge.  

Objectives

  • Ensuring that GLS direct product is competitive against our 3rd Party and marketplace competitors through manual competitiveness checks, procurement of all rate types and referencing relevant data sets to make informed decisions.
  • Speed to market
  • Ensure best available rates for GLS Direct suppliers
  • Maintain current connections
  • Manage new connections in conjunction with Connectivity Team
  • Leveraging off available datasets, relationship with Contracting Managers and the cultivation of supplier relationships, work with Platinum & Gold partners to craft tactical offers to assist in driving volume and TTV
  • Read and analyse data to identify commercial opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Confidently pitch propositions, backed by supporting rationale and data
  • Support Contracting Managers with Day to Day operational tasks for Silver contracted suppliers
  • Triage Market Manager queue
  • Liaise with Contracting Managers for issues that require escalation
  • Follow defined escalation processes
  • Liaise with suppliers in line with service level agreement
  • Provide feedback to wider business around barriers to competitiveness, escalating issues and offering viable problem-solving strategies backed by examples, tests and research
  • Escalating technical issues resulting in barriers to competitiveness
  • Raising new issues backed by examples
  • Designing and articulating workarounds to common issues

  • Clearly communicate business outcomes with stakeholders
  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge of travel industry and Flight Centre business
  • Extensive wholesale experience
  • Monitor supplier performance on a regular basis
  • Identify, communicate and manage resolution of issues with suppliers
  • Manage suppliers across multiple geographies and cultural environments
  • Computer literate (Calypso, MS Office)
  • Able to learn new systems quickly
  • Knowledge of Hotelhub, Gimmonix, Helio desirable but not essential as training will be provided
