The Role

SRG Global Asset Care is currently seeking an experienced Senior Civil/Structural Engineer for our Cameron Park office in Newcastle, New South Wales.

The chosen candidate will be responsible for overseeing tasks related to structural integrity inspection, analysis, and design to ensure safety and compliance with codes. Their expertise will be crucial in developing practical solutions for a range of mining and industrial structures.

The successful candidate will also take on responsibilities in various project aspects, including safety, quality, customer relations, sales, environmental management, finance, scheduling, and equipment maintenance, all in accordance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining communication with clients engaged in engineering projects.
  • Taking responsibility for project cost estimation for bids, supporting presentations to potential clients, and managing key client relationships.
  • Maintaining key client relationships, identifying opportunities in the market and further developing the growth of the business.
  • Applying engineering methods, techniques, and principles to project tasks.
  • Executing engineering computations, analyses, and designs.
  • Overseeing structural integrity inspections and audits for critical assets, plants, and equipment.
  • Utilizing software such as ANSYS, SPACEGASS, Inventor Professional, etc., for conducting Structural Analysis.
  • Creating project proposals, execution plans, engineering specifications, scopes of work, estimates, tender documents, resource coordination, reporting, client communication, and liaison.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest technological advancements and innovative solutions to address client challenges.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering with project management and supervisory experience.
  • CPEng and RPEQ status are highly advantageous.
  • Seven to ten years of project management experience in a field related testing, inspection or asset care services.
  • Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS.
  • Complex structural design experience e.g. coal storage bins and hoppers, stackers, reclaimer, conveyors etc
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Sound knowledge of energy and resource sector as well as asset management principles.
  • Commitment to a high performance culture.
