The Role

Site Engineer required for a new life of mine Tailings Storage Facility to accommodate planned and future operational expansions at the Pilgangoora Project in the Pilbara region, WA.

2:1 FIFO roster from Perth

The key objective of this role is to oversee various aspects of a specific project to achieve its goals efficiently and effectively.

We're looking for a candidate with practical knowledge or familiarity with civil projects. Moreover, the chosen candidate will collaborate with a competent and effective team, gaining continuous project experience that enhances their technical and project management skills. Exceptional performance will create opportunities for career advancement.

Works will include:

  • Preparation of the construction site: Clear, Grub and Topsoil Strip
  • Excavate, load, haul and stockpile clay material within embankment footprint
  • Win from borrow, load, haul, placement, and compaction Zone A to perimeter embankment
  • Win from stockpile, load, haul spread and compact wearing course on embankment crest (150mm thick)

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar role desirable
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Strong computer and systems skills and knowledge
  • Ability to adapt and be reacting to change, and to plan accordingly
  • Pass a pre-employment medical and D&A

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare project specific documentation including technical, safety, environmental and quality (QSE) deliverables including method statements, MDRs, plans and any other documentation required.
  • Proactively inspect project activities to monitor progress and ensure conformance to specifications, drawings and QSE standards / best practice.
  • Provide technical advice and assist the Project Manager in directing the construction, operations, or maintenance activities at project site. 
  • Guide and participate in surveying to lay out installations or establish reference points, grades or elevations to guide construction. 
  • Liaise with Project Manager in the assessing of quantities/cost of materials, equipment and labor to determine continued project feasibility.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other topographical/geologic data.
  • Identify and resolve problems using correct process i.e. TQs / RFI
  • Ensure project documents and associated registers are kept current and accessible to project delivery team.
  • Assist, as required, in the preparation of tenders either through preparing parts of a bid, coordinating internal process documentation or quantity surveying.
  • Maintain project controls as directed by Project Manager i.e. registers.
  • Manage / co-ordinate QAQC testing activities to ensure specification compliance.
