The Role

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Accountant to join our finance team and support the continued growth of our business.

Reporting to the Assistant Finance Manager, this position presents an opportunity for accountability across a broad range of responsibilities within both the financial and management accounting areas. You will be hands on and provide assistance in producing timely and accurate monthly reporting for the Group. This role offers the opportunity to learn new skills across multiple disciplines, with training provided for the right person.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare journals to close monthly reporting periods
  • Prepare consolidation and elimination entries, ensuring that all reconciliation issues are investigated and resolved
  • Assist with the preparation of the consolidated monthly balance sheet, cash flow and P&L
  • Prepare key reconciliations including intercompany, fixed assets, leases, and bonds and bank guarantees
  • Assist in budget preparations and forecasting
  • Provide support for tax work (BAS, income tax, FBT and R&D)
  • Assisting in the Group's internal and external audit
  • Perform treasury functions

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or business-related field.
  • Professional accounting designation (CA, CPA or equivalent) or working towards certification.
  • Qualified or studying towards accountancy qualification preferable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related accounting or finance experience.
  • Working knowledge of accounting regulations and practices.
  • Working knowledge of accounting standards, AASB and IASB, including new accounting developments.
  • Construction industry experience an advantage.
  • Experience with JobPac and/or Dynamics 365 an advantage
  • Strong system skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and communication skills and ability to apply constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple business units for financial reporting requirements and compliance.
  • High level of attention to detail and analytical skills required to ensure quality of reporting.
  • Highly motivated individual with proven ability to meet required deadlines.
