The Role

SRG Global Asset Care has a career opportunity for an NDT Level 3 – Technical Governance to join our growing company. This role can be performed in any of our major offices in Australia, if you think you have the correct skillset, apply today to be considered.

This dedicated Level 3 support role in the Asset Care business aims to lead and enhance the NDT governance system across the organization. It focuses on developing, maintaining, and improving the system, supporting the NDT management from outside direct business units. This role provides technical leadership, ensuring efficient and compliant service delivery in the NDT service line, and embodies the SRG Global way.

Essential aspects of this role include collaborating with senior leaders to identify technical needs, mentoring technicians for progression, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance, thereby setting benchmarks and enhancing the sustainability of our services for the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the NDT management system and ensure national alignment and improvement through mechanisms such as the national NDT Lead Team, with travel to branches and project sites required.
  • Collaborate with the Asset Care technical authority and key operational and support stakeholders to address and mitigate key technical risks, enhancing service line delivery.
  • Serve as the point of contact for technical inquiries from operations NDT Level 3 leads and drive issues to resolution.
  • Prepare technical bulletins and other communications (e.g., documents, videos, webinars) to convey requirements and changes in the NDT management system.
  • Work with the Work Management System Team to enhance electronic reporting quality and functionality.
  • Manage, develop, and maintain: NDT procedures and technique sheets, Facility proficiency test programs, The Document, Competency, and Approvals improvement process for the NDT service line
  • Provide leadership and collaborate with operational technical leaders, including other Level 3s, to identify and close gaps in the operations Local Technical Controllers (LTC) program and deliverables. Proactively manage Quality Balanced Scorecard issues, and monitor and ensure the completion of pre-employment and routine competency assessments, visual acuity checks, field technical audits, quality event closeouts, approvals, and equipment calibration status.
  • Assist in identifying, mentoring, and planning the progression of Level 2 technicians to Level 3.
  • Assist with investigating incidents and developing corrective actions.
  • Represent the business at external conferences and events, such as AINDT, NATA, and Global NDT conferences.
  • Monitor and report on the successful adoption of improvement initiatives.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Minimum ISO 9712 Level 3 certification in - Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, Radiography and Ultrasonic Testing
  • Demonstrable extensive knowledge of:
    • The implementation of quality management systems
    • ISO/IEC 17025 and relevant NATA accreditation requirements
    • Measurement ranges and the estimation of uncertainties associated with the test results
    • IANZ accreditation requirements (desirable)
  • ISO 9712 Level 3 certification in Eddy Current, Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing, Time of Flight Diffraction (desirable)
  • ASNT Level 3 (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of an in-house SNT-TC-1A scheme (desirable)
  • Proficient Computer skills – Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint
  • Analytical strengths, with good problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work both individually and as part of a highly skilled team.
  • Proven customer service instincts and interpersonal relationship skills
