The Role

Newly created role for an HSE Advisor to join our Construction and Engineering team. This role reports to the Project Manager and will work closely with site personnel onsite ensuring prompt project delivery and quality works.

This will be a FIFO role on a 2:1 roster.

This is a permanent role with SRG Global. Upon completion of our project, there will be the opportunity to move onto other upcoming and ongoing projects.

In addition to working with a great team, the successful applicant will receive ongoing project exposure allowing you to further develop your technical and project management skills. There will be an opportunity for a strong performer to progress their career and move into Management positions. 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure employees are undertaking safety-related activities as per requirements
  • Conduct routine safety inspections, monitoring and analysis of work areas
  • Analyse site safety concerns and problems and recommend solutions to key personnel.
  • Lead and run investigations of site incidents from end to end
  • Maintain knowledge of all Industry applicable rules and regulations including government regulations, standards and policies.
  • Collaboration with Management in the development of project risk assessments.
  • Assist with identifying, developing, conducting and improving health and safety training and orientation programs to educate project employees on health, safety and quality risks within the business.
  • Attend and contribute to the scheduled Safety meetings within the group
  • Assist project personnel with Injury Management and RTW in consultation with the Group Workers Compensation Case Manager
  • Facilitate internal training programs as required.

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in a similar role or sufficient experience in civil & bulk earthworks construction environment on mining
  • Demonstrated experience in effective HSQE management
  • Experience in ICAM investigations
  • Advanced Worksite Traffic Management Certificate (highly desirable)
  • Willingness / ability to work in remote locations as may be required
  • Strong computer software skills including MS Office and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • High attention to detail and data processing accuracy

Academic / Education /Licenses

  • Australian Drivers licence
  • Cert IV in WHS/OHS (minimum)
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • Internal Auditor Qualification
  • Proven Experience in leading Investigation Training
