We are looking for a Service Technician to work for our Towers Division in Auckland.

The role:

Our Towers division undertakes the maintenance of transmission towers throughout the upper North Island. The Service Technicians role within the division focuses on our plant, equipment, and vehicles. They undertake routine maintenance, fault diagnosis and reactive repair so that production is not impacted. Our largest type of plant are abrasive blasting systems, and their associated water pumps. This includes inhouse proprietary blast guns which require ongoing refurbishment and development.

 

Other duties include:

  • Routinely inspecting and assessments of vehicles and trailers
  • Undertaking basic vehicle repair or servicing
  • Documenting all services and repairs
  • Co-ordinating major vehicle repairs with external suppliers
  • Co-ordinating WoF, CoF, and RUC
  • Liaising with suppliers and procuring parts

 

Requirements:

  • You will have a relevant high school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Certification from a vocational or trade school is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of plant, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Electrical knowledge of vehicles
  • MIG and TIG welding experience.
  • Mechanical fitting
  • A full driver’s licence
  • Ability to travel
  • HAZNO training and forklift license would be advantageous
  • Be a team player and understand the importance of teamwork
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Understanding of health and safety responsibilities
