The Role:

We are seeking a skilled and driven Site Engineer to play a key role in the successful delivery of major water infrastructure projects across South Australia, including pipe installation and water treatment facilities. This position will focus on applying strong engineering principles to support project execution while promoting a collaborative, high-performance environment.

About the Role:

As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for the efficient coordination and management of Engineering Works, overseeing activities related to technical operations, engineering, inspections, scheduling, planning, surveying, procurement, and quality control. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this role requires close collaboration with onsite teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

This is a permanent role with Diona/SRG Global. Following the completion of this project, there will be opportunities to transition into other ongoing and upcoming projects. The successful candidate will not only be part of an outstanding team but will also gain continuous project exposure, fostering the development of technical expertise and project management skills.

Key Project Scope Includes:

  • Site investigations and design management
  • Minor and major water and wastewater pipelines and ancillaries, including reticulation mains and trunk mains in brownfield environments up to DN1200
  • Deep excavation and open-cut installation of gravity sewer mains up to DN500, including installation of associated infrastructure
  • Trenchless pipelaying, including horizontal directional drilling and microtunnelling 
  • Management of complex temporary works and traffic arrangements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with design and SA Water standards and specifications.
  • Procurement and coordination of materials, plant, and equipment, including raising purchase requisitions and ensuring materials delivered to site are correct, in good condition, and in a timely manner so as to not cause delays to the construction program.
  • Performing site inspections and observations with respect to health, safety and environmental KPIs.
  • Assisting project engineers with the development of site documentation, including ITPs, SWMSs, JSEAs and Construction Execution Procedures.
  • Undertaking quality control inspections and ITP Witness and Hold Point inspections. 

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • Tertiary qualification in civil engineering
  • 1-2yrs experience in Water, utilities or transport spaces
  • Sound working knowledge of HSEQ requirements and implementation of same
  • Strong and clear communication skills with proven ability to engage others
  • Willingness / ability to work in remote locations as may be required
