We are looking for an experienced Sampler to join our Mining – Drill & Blast team at our Whyalla, SA operations. This is a long-term project for SRG Global having been the drilling and blasting contractor onsite since 2012.

This is a full-time residential position with client supplied transport daily from Whyalla. Roster is 7:7 (days) – day shift & night shift.

The Role

The Sampler plays a critical role in providing reliable data that informs decision-making processes, supports quality control measures, and contributes to the overall operational efficiency and success of the organization.

Responsible for safely collecting ore samples produces from DTH drill rigs to conform to client specifications.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and collect samples from worksite
  • Count, measure, weigh and label samples as needed
  • Assist with site quality assurance requirements
  • Assist servicing drills with water trailer
  • Assist blast crew and perform blast guard duties
  • Carry out general labouring duties as requested by their supervisor

The successful applicant will have:

  • C Class Drivers Licence (Manual)
  • Ability to perform labouring duties
  • Good communication and organisational skills, with an emphasis on teamwork
  • A positive attitude towards safety, training & environment
  • Pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol assessment

Desirables

  • Heavy Rigid (HR) Drivers Licence
  • Shot Crew experience
