The role:

Symal Groups' national expansion is taking place.

Our NSW Infrastructure team is no stranger to this, having forged an expanding footprint across the Hunter Valley and wider NSW. Due to the growth that we have experienced, as well as a plethora of opportunities we have incoming for 2025, we are looking for a Project Manager to jump on board.

This role will originally commence as a Bid Lead role, assisting with tenders in the precontracts team, you will then head out to site to deliver our newly won work.

Given we are a Newcastle based business, we are inviting interstate applicants to apply who are interested in relocating to the Hunter Valley. This is not a FIFO position, rather it is a full-time role based in Newcastle with travel to our sites required as and when needed.

Your impact: 

Taking the helm of our ambitious and innovative projects, as a Project Manager, you will be a key voice in steering us as we embark on bolstering our growing workbook in the major transport space.

Your every day:

  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental management. Lead continual improvement of a high performing safety culture within the delivery team.
  • Manage the overall delivery of the project in accordance with internal processes.
  • Manage execution of engineering, procurement and construction activities.
  • Review progress against plans, contractual arrangements and delivery milestones to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates.
  • Leading and managing teams of construction professionals including mentoring, training and performance management.

Who are you?

  • Experience delivering Civil Infrastructure projects across major transport, renewables, defense, 
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • A proven track record in delivering infrastructure projects and leading teams with a successful outcome regarding the above KRAs.
  • Be able to effectively communicate in meetings with consultants, clients, management & on-site personnel.
  • A proven record and understanding of HSE/QA compliance.
