A bit about the role
We’re looking for a creative and strategic leader to drive the City of Casey’s digital communications and brand presence. As Team Leader Communications and Brand, you’ll lead a small, high-performing team to shape and deliver impactful content, campaigns and brand strategies that inform, inspire and engage our community.
You’ll guide the direction of our digital channels, oversee the evolution of our visual identity, and champion accessible, inclusive communications that reflect who we are. If you’re passionate about leading people, elevating brand reputation, and telling stories that matter, this role is for you.
What you’ll deliver
- Lead, support and develop the Communications and Brand Team, including clearly defining role expectations, monitoring performance, providing timely and constructive feedback to facilitate development.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Communications and Brand Team, including allocating tasks, establishing deadlines and ensuring service delivery.
- Foster a cooperative and motivated team approach and a strong customer service focus that seeks to drive strong deliverables that support the organisation.
- Deliver staff training as required across the organisation to ensure staff are equipped with relevant skills related to social media, accessible communications, and effective communications.
- Deliver communications programs that build the City of Casey’s brand, reputation and value proposition, and position the organisation as an employer of choice and a leader in communications.
- Drive the strategic direction of Council’s digital channels including social media, eDMs, email signatures and digital screens to ensure.
- Design, deliver and evaluate effective campaigns across both digital and traditional channels that communicate key messages, and reaching target audiences according to Council’s objectives and priorities.
What you’ll bring
- Relevant qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or similar, with demonstrated experience in the field.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing effective written communications for a broad range of stakeholders and across various communication channels.
- Ability to liaise confidently with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Experience in managing multiple communication projects simultaneously and delivering on deadlines to achieve the desired outcomes.
- Experience in graphic design/desktop publishing, and the filming and editing of video content is preferred but not essential.
- Proven ability to thoroughly proofread material and manage approvals with a high degree of accuracy.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
