The City of Casey is one of Victoria’s largest, fastest growing and most diverse cities. The Council plans and delivers quality services and infrastructure for the more than 400,000 residents who call Casey home.
The Community Facilities Management team operates across four local areas, facilitating bookings, administration, operational and community development tasks. This position will be located within the Northwest local area of Casey and includes Lynbrook Community Centre and various family and community centres. There is a requirement to travel across Centres.

A bit about the role
Are you passionate about creating vibrant, welcoming community spaces? As a Senior Community Facilities Officer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations, excellent customer service, and meaningful community connections.
Using community development principles, you’ll drive engagement and run programs that build capacity and foster a strong sense of belonging. You’ll also provide inspiring leadership to your team, helping them grow professionally.
This role requires availability on Thursdays and Fridays, providing the opportunity to focus your skills and energy during these key days.
What you’ll deliver
- Provide direction, mentoring, leadership and supervision to staff that builds their capacity to work within a collaborative context and maximises professional growth and effective service delivery.
- Maintain information and data to support preparation of funding submissions, reports and other material as required.
- Oversee and ensure the smooth operation of community facilities including financial, OH&S and emergency management plans and procedures, management of resources and equipment, cleaning and maintenance of the centres.
- Promote awareness of the various community facilities through maintenance of all publications including print materials and digital content to outline activities, programs and functions pertaining to the local community.
- Develop, plan and implement appropriate programs, activities and events at various community facilities, in response to the identified needs, service gaps and community strengths.
What you’ll bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification in community development, social science, community services or other related fields or extensive work experience within a community setting.
- Desirable IAP2 training.
- Drivers licence which is valid to drive within Victoria.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
- Functional Assessment (Medical/physio)
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
