A bit about the role
As a Senior Recreation Planner, you’ll help prepare strategic plans to deliver exceptional open space and recreation outcomes. Your expertise will guide the development of parks, playgrounds, trails, sports facilities and public spaces that reflect the needs and aspirations of our diverse community.
What you’ll deliver
- Prepare, implement, project manage and review strategic documents/plans, land use plans, capital works projects and grant applications to respond to open space, sport and recreation needs of the existing and future community.
- Respond to internal planning referrals for growth area.
- Engage meaningfully with the Casey community and key stakeholders to develop strategic plans and capital works projects.
- Provide advice to Council, Council officers and external stakeholders on the open space, sport and recreation needs of the Casey community, including through the capital works program.
- Maintain knowledge and data on current planning, trends and statistics in order to provide advice on open space, sport and recreation planning issues.
What you’ll bring
- A tertiary qualification in recreation and/or open space planning, or relevant experience working in a related discipline or industry.
- Experience in project and stakeholder management
- Experience within the Sport, Recreation, Open Space or Planning industry
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check & Eligibility to Work check.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
