A bit about the role
Reporting to the Coordinator Accounting Services, the Accounting Services Officer ensures accurate processing and recording of internal and external invoices and transactions for payment, reconciliation, and reporting purposes
As a valuable member, you will play a crucial role in supporting various functions within our Accounting Services. Your dedication and attention to detail will contribute to the overall efficiency and success of our team.
What you’ll deliver
- Ensure all payment requests are correctly authorised within delegated limits, have correct cost allocations and appropriate supporting documentation, and are in accordance with Council policies.
- Code all applicable invoices - confirming creditor details (ABN and banking details) and GST are correct and accurate.
- Process payment requests/invoices for the City of Casey and Casey Cardinia Library Corporation within timeframes determined in the accounting timetable.
- Ensure that all sundry debtor invoice requests have correct cost allocations and appropriately authorised supporting documentation.
- Process all transactions (manually and electronically) including invoices, credit notes, payments, payment allocations, statements and journals within the timeframes determined in the accounting timetable.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting or Business.
- Experience in ERP Finance systems, Accounts Payable automation, Technology One Finance system including XL One reporting and Kofax is highly desirable.
- Post-graduate accounting certification (Chartered Accountant or Certified Practising Accountant) or working towards it is desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, charts, and reporting
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
