A bit about the role

This role offers the opportunity for leading planning and delivery of high-impact, enterprise-wide projects that drive meaningful service improvements across Council. Partnering closely with stakeholders, you’ll shape initiatives from concept through to completion, translating business needs into well-defined project outcomes and support achieving the strategic objectives of City of Casey.

You’ll balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and in line with governance frameworks. Working as part of the Strategy, Innovation and Transformation team, you’ll play a key role in enabling organisational priorities and delivering tangible value for both the business and the community.

What you’ll deliver

  • Successful end-to-end delivery of enterprise service improvement projects (on time, on budget, to scope and quality).
  • Detailed project plans, schedules, budgets and risk management strategies.
  • Project execution oversight, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
  • Clear project governance, reporting and compliance aligned to the project management framework.
  • Well-defined project scope, documentation and business requirements developed with stakeholders.
  • Effective risk, issue and cost controls, including accurate tracking and forecasting.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration to drive project outcomes and realise business value.
  • Effective leadership of project working groups / teams incl. internal and external stakeholders across projects, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Strong adherence to City of Casey procurement processes in line with council guidelines.
  • Multiple concurrent projects management with varying levels of complexity.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Project Management, Information Technology or a related field.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex projects end-to-end within large or local government environments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills in hybrid environments.
  • Expertise in budget management and procurement processes.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive outcomes in dynamic settings.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
