About the Role
In this role, you will support the effective management of Council’s digital and physical information throughout its lifecycle, ensuring records are accurately registered, classified, stored and retrieved in line with legislative and organisational requirements. Working as part of the Information Management team, you will contribute to maintaining high-quality information practices, support business users with information requests, and help improve accessibility, compliance and information governance across the organisation.
What we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced information management professional who can hit the ground running, confidently navigate a dynamic environment and help shape a newly evolving Information Management function. This is an exciting opportunity to become a visible subject matter expert, partnering closely with stakeholders who value proactive support and practical solutions.
You will bring a strong foundation in records and information management, along with the ability to adapt to new ways of working and continuously improve how services are delivered across Council.
Success in this role looks like:
- Taking a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and resolving issues before they become problems.
- Demonstrating adaptability and resilience in a changing and evolving environment.
- Building strong relationships and trusted partnerships with stakeholders across the organisation.
- Communicating clearly and confidently with a diverse range of audiences.
- Being visible, approachable and present, providing practical support and guidance to business areas.
- Focusing on solutions and outcomes, rather than simply identifying challenges.
What You’ll Bring
- Qualifications in Information Management, Records Management, Business Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in records and information management, preferably within local government or a similarly regulated environment.
- Experience registering, classifying, managing and retrieving digital and/or physical records.
- Knowledge of information lifecycle management principles, records governance and compliance requirements.
- Experience using TechnologyOne ECM, or similar document and records management systems, with skills that can be readily transferred across platforms.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively within established procedures while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys working collaboratively, embraces change and is motivated by helping others manage information effectively, efficiently and compliantly.
