About the Role
A newly created opportunity, the Coordinator Infrastructure Permits plays a pivotal role in leading the day-to-day operations of the Infrastructure Permits team within the City Design and Construction Department.
Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure Permits and Construction Supervision, you will coordinate permit services relating to Asset Protection, Working within the Road Reserve, Vehicle Crossings and Minor Works permits, ensuring efficient service delivery, strong governance and compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
This role offers the opportunity to mentor and support a dedicated team while contributing to the continuous improvement of permit processes that support the growth of one of Victoria's fastest growing municipalities.
What You’ll deliver
- Lead and coordinate the daily operations of the Infrastructure Permits team.
- Oversee the administration and processing of Asset Protection, Road Reserve, Vehicle Crossing and Minor Works permits.
- Mentor, support and develop Infrastructure Permits Officers to achieve high performance outcomes.
- Drive service improvements, process efficiencies and consistent permit management practices.
- Coordinate practical and final completion requirements associated with subdivisional developments.
- Ensure permit-related activities are compliant with statutory obligations and Council requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation within Council systems.
- Foster productive relationships with developers, contractors, customers and internal stakeholders.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience managing construction and development permit processes.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure, development and construction-related compliance requirements.
- Experience leading, mentoring or coordinating teams in a customer-focused environment.
- Ability to interpret engineering and development plans and apply relevant permit requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical solutions.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
- Current National Criminal History Check and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
