About the Role
The Procurement Officer plays a vital role in supporting Council's procurement and contract administration activities, ensuring procurement processes are delivered efficiently, compliantly and with a strong customer focus. Working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, the role provides specialist procurement support across tendering, contract administration, vendor management and purchasing processes.
By maintaining robust procurement practices, delivering high-quality advice and support, and driving process improvements, the Procurement Officer helps ensure Council achieves value-for-money outcomes, manages risk effectively, and delivers services that positively benefit the organisation and the Casey community.
What You’ll deliver
- Coordinate end-to-end tender and quotation processes, including advertising, managing enquiries, tender closings, evaluations, interviews and stakeholder communications.
- Provide procurement and contract administration support, including preparing procurement documentation, maintaining contract records, and assisting with purchase orders, invoices and contract securities.
- Deliver exceptional stakeholder and vendor support, providing responsive procurement advice, managing supplier communications and building strong working relationships across the organisation.
- Maintain procurement systems and compliance records, ensuring accurate, up-to-date documentation and supporting audit and governance requirements.
- Support continuous improvement and capability building, providing guidance to users, resolving procurement system issues and assisting with training on purchasing and procurement processes.
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant qualifications or demonstrated experience in procurement, contract administration, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven ability to build positive relationships and deliver exceptional customer service to a diverse range of stakeholders and suppliers.
- Strong written, verbal and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prepare accurate documentation and reports.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work collaboratively within a team environment, and proactively resolve issues.
- A growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement, with public sector procurement experience highly regarded.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, and Eligibility to Work check.
