A bit about the role
City of Casey offers three-year-old and four-year-old sessional kindergarten programs in all our kindergartens. Our mission is to ensure local children have the best early childhood experiences possible. As a Kindergarten Assistant, you may be required to work at any of the kindergartens managed by the City of Casey.
Our kindergarten teams have a strong culture of support, encouraging staff to take up professional development opportunities throughout the year, and to collaborate closely to improve and adapt practices and approaches in line with children’s needs.
This is an in-service position where you will support the delivery of a kindergarten program at an allocated service, as a Diploma qualified Kindergarten Assistant.
You will be supported to foster your understanding and experience applying the National Quality Framework, Early Years Learning Framework and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
As a large provider of Kindergarten programs, we offer a variety of session models to suit family and community needs. Our kindergarten assistants are employed on a part time basis, generally working 3 to 5 days per week with shift hours varying between 8.00am-4.30pm depending on the session model.
What you will bring
- A collaborative and inclusive mindset, with a genuine commitment to supporting and engaging children from diverse backgrounds and with varying abilities.
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care as approved by ACECQA
- Current Level 2 First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certified
- Maram Information sharing Reforms e-learn Certificate
- Victorian -Protecting Children - Mandatory Reporting and Other Obligations Early Childhood
- National child safety training – Modules 1 & 2 and 3&4 (Geccko)
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence
- Willingness to undertake pre-employment checks including: National Criminal History, Working with Children check, Eligibility to Work in Australia and Functional Assessment (physio/medical).
