About the Role
At City of Casey, we're creating vibrant, sustainable and welcoming outdoor environments for one of Australia's fastest-growing municipalities. We're seeking an experienced and passionate leader to oversee the management of our horticultural assets, playspaces, public art landscapes and community facility surrounds.
As the Team Leader Horticulture and Playspaces, you'll provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio, managing high-profile assets including playspaces, horticultural displays, community landscapes, outdoor public art and the renowned Wilson Botanic Park.
What You’ll deliver
- Lead and mentor a team of specialist coordinators and contractors across horticulture, botanical horticulture, playspaces and landscapes.
- Drive the delivery of maintenance programs that enhance the presentation, safety and sustainability of public spaces.
- Develop and implement asset strategies, service standards and long-term management plans.
- Manage complex operational and capital works budgets and ensure value-for-money outcomes.
- Oversee the planning and delivery of minor capital projects and landscape improvements across the municipality.
- Lead contract management activities, including procurement, performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders on horticulture, landscape management and playspace assets.
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in horticulture, landscape management or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in horticulture, landscape management, public art and/or playground management.
- Proven success leading teams and managing external contractors.
- Strong experience managing complex operational and capital budgets.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills.
- A current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Functional Assessment (Medical/physio & hearing test)
