About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of field-based and office-based work while contributing to environmental protection and sustainable outcomes for our community.
What You’ll deliver
- Undertake environmental monitoring and field investigations at closed landfill and contaminated land sites.
- Conduct landfill gas monitoring, leachate gauging, pump maintenance and site inspections.
- Assist with environmental assessments relating to land, waterways, soil health and contamination.
- Collect, analyse and maintain accurate environmental data and records.
- Support the preparation of technical reports, specifications and documentation for regulators and environmental auditors.
- Contribute to the implementation of landfill aftercare management programs and environmental projects.
What You’ll Bring
- Qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainable Development, a trade qualification, another relevant science discipline, or significant relevant industry experience.
- Experience undertaking field-based environmental, infrastructure or technical operations work.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record and manage data.
- Sound report writing and administrative skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
- Ability to work safely in outdoor environments and undertake physical field work.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Functional Assessment (Medical/physio)
