Who are you?
A senior technical operational tradesperson with several years’ experience in either mechanical or electrical fields, who is looking to join transition to renewables. With a proven track record in leading the planning and execution of heavy industrial outages, you bring a deep understanding of commercial and business considerations to support and justify outage business cases. This includes resource planning, budgeting, cost control processes, and delivering ongoing reports to stakeholders to endure strategies are being excited.
You keep safety front of mind and can provide leadership in this space while promoting quality of work and time management, while connecting the team to being part of something BIG!
In addition to Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualifications and/or an Engineering Certificate, qualifications in Operational or Project Management—or equivalent leadership experience—are required. A valid driver’s license and solid computer skills are also essential.
About the role:
To put it simply… you will manage the full scope of major outages as our Major Works program rolls out across the state. This will involve heavy involvement in the refurbishment of hydropower assets that have been operating for over 100 years!
As a Outage Manager, you will be…
✓ Managing the planning and details of the outage, to define the schedule, cost, quality, and risks.
✓ Handling procurement and offsite manufacture and/or refurbishment of components of the plant.
✓ Accountability for the Outage finalisation process including the preparation of commissioning plans and documentation for submission.
✓ Leading the Hazard and Operability Studies (HazOpS) of new or modified equipment.
✓ Work closely with a range of stakeholders including the Commercial team,
✓ Leading the outage management team and driving improvements in safety and quality.
