About the role:
To put it simply… support production through maintenance and refurbishment of generating equipment. Based out of Gowrie Park, you’ll be working across a range of hydropower stations all with their own story. Alongside your team of pros, you’ll maintain hydropower assets that play a key role in Tasmania’s renewable future.
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be…
✓ Conducting operational repairs and preventative maintenance, with travel as needed to support out Major Maintenance schedules.
✓ Providing mentoring and supervision to junior Technicians/Assistants and Apprentices,
✓ Fault finding under safe working conditions, and management and execution of work packages/Permits to Work.
✓ Participating in local area on call roster,
✓ Undertaking regular equipment inspection regimes,

Who are you?
You’re a driven and safety-conscious mechanical tradesperson with solid experience in maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment, ideally within heavy industry or hydro environments.
With a Certificate III or IV in a mechanical trade, you bring strong condition monitoring skills, a focus on continuous improvement, and a team-first mindset. You're confident mentoring apprentices and junior team members, have a current driver’s licence, and are comfortable using digital tools and systems.
If you're looking for variety, there’s also the opportunity to work across the state, making an impact wherever your skills are needed.
