About the role
While the preferred location for this role is nipaluna (Hobart), we welcome applications from across Tasmania. You'll support the management of historic and Aboriginal cultural heritage across Hydro Tasmania's diverse portfolio of renewable energy and water infrastructure located throughout the state. As Heritage Advisor, you'll contribute to the Cultural Heritage Program through heritage projects, technical advice, and strategic initiatives. Working closely with stakeholders and specialist consultants, you'll help protect, interpret, and manage heritage values while supporting project delivery and operational outcomes across the business.
Salary range $122,116 – $141,565 plus super

Key responsibilities
• Provide heritage advice to project teams to inform planning, delivery and decision-making.
• Manage heritage projects, consultants and contractors, translating specialist advice into practical outcomes for Hydro Tasmania's operational and project environments.
• Develop and implement heritage interpretation plans and initiatives.
• Assess and manage cultural heritage collections and related activities.
• Prepare and review heritage assessments, management plans and technical documentation.
• Support compliance with heritage legislation, approvals and organisational requirements

Skills & experience
• Degree in cultural heritage management or a related discipline.
• Experience providing heritage advice within complex operational or project environments.
• Knowledge of historic and/or Aboriginal cultural heritage management practices.
• Experience in heritage interpretation, heritage collections management, or a genuine interest in developing capability in these areas.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, technical writing and project management skills.
