About the role:

The VPP Specialist (Operations Analyst) supports the VPP Lead and VPP Operations Manager as well as the wider Energy Solutions team to deliver and operationalise VPP projects and assist with energy products and propositions for Momentum’s customers – focussing on commercial and industrial customers but also including small to medium enterprise and residential customers.

What you’ll do:

  • Working closely with the VPP Lead and VPP Operations Manager on the development and implementation of innovative VPP projects
  • Relationship management of internal and external stakeholders to optimise, develop and scale the VPP Product and other energy products and propositions
  • Correct technical implementation beginning with documenting specifications through to configuration and coordination of stakeholders
  • Onboarding and testing of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), as well as operational aspects such as troubleshooting and settlements
  • Support and maintain aspects of the VPP Product including contract management, control optimisation, operations, trading, invoicing etc. to ensure our compliance obligations are met,
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders (i.e. Trading, Generation Operations, Value Streams, Energy Solutions, Commercial and Customer Growth, Customer Care,  Legal and Compliance  and Finance) to support VPP Product initiatives.

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience with Distributed Energy Resource (DER) solutions and/or Virtual Power Plants
  • Strong Interpersonal communication skills (both in conversation and in writing) to ensure information is effectively communicated to key stakeholders,
  • Able to utilise appropriate data to drive decision making,
  • Ability to analyse problems and deliver innovative solutions,
  • Knowledge of the National Electricity Market and regulations relevant to DERs
  • Previous experience working on a VPP or working as part of a product team and familiar with energy solutions
