John Therry Catholic College is a Catholic co-educational school situated in Rosemeadow in the city of Campbelltown and part of the Diocese of Wollongong. Established by the Marist Brothers the College maintains a strong Marist charism, tradition and affiliation with Marist Ministries. The College provides a wide curriculum to approximately 1006 students as we strive for academic success while offering many sporting, cultural and extracurricular opportunities. A temporary full time position commencing from 11 November 2024 (or by negotiation) until 19 December 2025. The successful applicant will support teachers to meet the needs of diverse learners in a mainstream setting. The role of the Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
- Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
- Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
- Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning across KLA(s).
- Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
- Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.
DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA
- Experience adjusting class work and assessment activities for students with disabilities.
- Experience leading meetings with parents and carers to support student learning.
- Have Special education qualification and/or experience teaching in a specialised setting or a commitment to gaining qualifications in Special Education.
- Have experience in developing effective relationships with parents/carers and external agencies in order to develop personalised learning plans for students with disability.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Disability Standards for Education (DSE) 2005 and the processes integral to the annual Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).
GENERAL CAPABILITIES

QUALIFICATIONS
- Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Area (s).
- Have Special education qualification and/or experience teaching in a specialised setting or a commitment to gaining qualifications in Special Education.
- Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
- The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE
This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
