ABOUT THE ROLE
The ICLT team plays a critical role in ensuring that the 38 schools in the Diocese of Wollongong have access to innovative and high quality technology infrastructure and communication systems to support great learning and student outcomes. The team is a vibrant group of professionals working within a terrific culture focused on continuous improvement.
This Learning Systems Specialist position primarily exists to lead the identification, implementation and support of learning systems deployed by CEDoW with a core focus upon the management of the creation of online courses for use across CEDoW. Whilst in the first instance the focus of online courses will be for CEDoW staff, there may be a call on the role to assist with the creation of online courses to support curriculum delivery to students over time.
Due to the integrated nature of CEDoW enterprise systems the role will also develop expertise in, and provide occasional support for, other school-facing systems such as Compass, and Google, as well as the critical integration points of the LMS with the broader CEDoW applications architecture including OKTA and human resource management/professional development tracking systems.
The successful candidate will:

Manage the production and delivery of online professional learning courses for teachers and staff within the K-12 schooling system

Engage closely with all content experts (from various teams) and ensure that their desired online learning experience is delivered to the intended audiences through the selected Learning Management System (LMS). This includes transforming content provided by content owners into engaging, effective online courses.

Maintain all aspects of the LMS, including the uploading and removal of course content, managing user access, keeping up to date with LMS industry trends and systems, and the coordination of upgrades and systems updates.

Provide expert technical and system administration advice, support and direction across eLearning technologies to enable effective implementation, systems alignment and optimal performance that effectively delivers professional development objectives.

Conduct research and analyse technology trends that impacts on K-12 education specifically related to the use of eLearning systems within educational environments and assess the possible introduction or new applications/services to deliver greater effectiveness and efficiency in CEDoW professional development processes.
SELECTION CRITERIA
-
Extensive knowledge of the broad technology environment within the education sector and an appreciation of the nexus between teaching and learning and technology.

Understanding of the various elements that are essential to eLearning platforms (e.g. multimedia).

Experience in configuring educational technology, including Learning Management Systems and the production of materials in relevant file types.

Experience with content production tools such as Captivate and video editing tools

Knowledge of major application systems used within education environments and how they are optimally integrated to support the work of teachers and school admin staff.

Capacity to use ICT applications with a high degree of competency.
-
An ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal technical partners and stakeholders.

Demonstrated project and effective time management skills including superior prioritisation skills.

Sound planning, organisational, communication and negotiation skills and the ability to adapt to changing technology and act proactively.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Familiarity with accessibility standards in eLearning.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Relevant Bachelor’s degree in IT/Education.

Certifications: Certification in instructional design, e-Learning development, or LMS administration (e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) is highly desirable.

Experience:
-
Proven experience managing and administering Learning Management Systems.

Experience in developing online courses, particularly for adult learners, in a K-12 education context is highly preferred.

Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.

Experience working with subject matter experts across various disciplines.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE
This role is classified as child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.
