Magdalene Catholic College Magdalene Catholic College is a systemic co-educational high school in the Macarthur region within the Diocese Wollongong. Established to support the communities around Camden, Picton, Narellan and the Oaks, the College is now in its 26th year of operation. The College has 1160 students from Years 7-12. The College provides a learning environment which places students at the centre. A permanent full time teacher position commencing 31 January 2025. The successful applicant will be required to teach Science.
The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
- Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
- Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
- Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
- Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in Science.
- Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
- Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider College community.
DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA
- Aptitude and willingness to actively contribute to the broader life of Magdalene Catholic College whilst supporting the Science Faculty and what it offers the College.
- Ability to teach Religious Education would be advantage.
GENERAL CAPABILITIES
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Appropriate qualifications for teaching various subjects within the Science faculty.
- Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
- The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE
This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
