ABOUT THE ROLE

The Workplace Safety and Wellbeing team is a dynamic and energetic team that contributes to the broader People and Culture service area through the design and delivery of a comprehensive workplace safety and wellbeing framework. 

This position works under the direction of the Team Leader - Workplace Safety and Wellbeing and requires an understanding and commitment to support the mission of Catholic Education within the evangelising mission of the Church.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with the facilitation of workers’ compensation and injury management practices in line with CEDoW program and procedures formed from legislative requirements.  
  • Actively input, store, and manage data within the newly implemented SOLV case management system to effectively manage workers’ compensation and non-compensable injuries across our schools and office sites.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of WHS resources and training so that schools remain compliant with WHS Laws and Regulations.  
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements to ensure compliance with CEDoW Policy and Procedures
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Workplace Safety and Wellbeing initiatives and projects.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Actively support the development of relevant policies and procedures to facilitate the ongoing rollout of a comprehensive workplace safety and well-being framework for CEDoW.
  • Knowledge of workers’ compensation and work health and safety 
  • Ability to build relationships with school staff, generating respectful working associations and delivering outstanding support in a shared work environment.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Intermediate skills in computer-based office systems
  • An ability to deliver staff training to staff in both group and individual settings, either onsite at schools, via Zoom, or in training sessions at the Catholic Education Office  
  • An ability to work autonomously and also as a team member supporting colleagues within the broader WSaW team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and schedule work accordingly
  • Attention to detail in all work processes, including administrative work

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Degree level qualification or working towards completion in Human Resources, Psychology, Allied Health /Rehabilitation, or other relevant discipline
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the area of human resources within a medium to large organisation is advantageous but not essential
  •  A strong desire to work in the area of Work Health and Safety and Injury Management/Workers' Compensation.
  • Capacity to use ICT applications with a high degree of competency.
  • An awareness of the NSW Workers' Compensation Scheme and Work Health and Safety Legislation.
