The Executive Director of Schools, Diocese of Wollongong, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for a permanent full time position as a Leadership Development Specialist based in Wollongong.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The role is situated within the Leadership and Professional Growth Team (LPG) and comes under the direct line management of the LPG Team Leader. The position is designed to cultivate, develop, and sustain high-quality educational leadership aligned to CEDoW's strategic and operational objectives, through targeted leadership development programs. Your duties may include:
- Develop Assistant Principals and Middle Leaders through coaching and mentoring, promoting reflective practice so as to guide ongoing professional growth and development.
- Design and implement differentiated professional learning pathways aligned to the AITSL Standards, supporting leadership development from emerging leaders through to executive roles.
- Facilitate structured induction and ongoing leadership development programs for school based leaders.
- Evaluate leadership development by tracking the growth, effectiveness, and impact of school leaders and by assessing program outcomes and leadership capacity needs.
- Support the delivery and monitoring of the System Professional Learning Strategy to promote continuous growth and system-wide improvement.
- Facilitate appraisals for Assistant Principals, Middle Leaders and other school leaders where applicable in alignment with CEDoW leadership expectations.
- Conduct research and engage with stakeholders to inform the development of evidence-based leadership strategies and policies grounded in contemporary educational research.
- Support recruitment processes for CEDoW staff where applicable.
- Other duties as requested by the Team Leader- Leadership and Professional Growth.
KEY SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive demonstrated experience leading the development of Middle Leaders in a school environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading professional learning and development initiatives.
- Ability to design and implement differentiated professional learning pathways.
- Experience facilitating structured induction and ongoing development programs for educational leaders.
- Experience developing meaningful metrics to track leadership growth and program effectiveness.
- Current understanding of leadership theory and evidence-based practices in educational settings.
- Knowledge of AITSL Standards and their application to leadership development.
- Ability to integrate research findings into practical leadership strategies and policies.
- An ability to think, plan and act strategically to support consistency and cohesion across system initiatives.
- Sound understanding of Catholic education mission, values, and leadership expectations.
- Deep understanding of school leadership and career development.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
- Understanding of digital platforms for coaching and professional development delivery.
- LEVEL D accreditation in accordance with Work Teach Lead Policy
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Masters of Educational Leadership (or relevant post-graduate equivalent)
- Extensive experience at a Principal/Assistant Principal leadership level or system equivalent
DESIRABLE
- LEVEL E accreditation in accordance with Work Teach Lead Policy
- Certification in Coaching/Mentoring Formal qualifications and/or extensive experience in leadership coaching and mentoring (Accredited
- GROWTH Coach or similar) GENOS facilitator
WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE
