A temporary full time position (working 6.30am-2pm) commencing 31 January 2025 until 19 December 2025, with the possibility of extension. 

The Canteen Assistant is responsible for assisting with the provision of an effective canteen service.  The Canteen Assistant is responsible directly to the Canteen Supervisor.

The successful applicant will be required to:

• providing a friendly and welcoming environment for students, staff, and volunteers.
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene in the handling, preparation, serving, and storage of food.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

• Supportive of the mission and purpose of Catholic Education.
• Knowledge of Healthy Canteens strategies and Food Safety Standards.
• Experience with online ordering systems.
• Experience in food service operations including online ordering, stock and cash handling.
• Basic computer skills including internet, email, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to represent the school in an honest, ethical, and professional way.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or willingness to obtain.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a working with children clearance is required prior to your commencement with us.
