A permanent part time position commencing 28 April 2025 (start date negotiable - with a 3 months probation period)(4 weeks annual leave). The successful applicant will be required to work 3 days per week from 6.30am to 2.30pm.

The role of School Support Office - Maintenance/Outdoor provides services to assist with the smooth operation of the School and will be responsible for general maintenance and repairs, and other duties as directed by the Principal.

Duties may include (but not be limited to):

  • General building and grounds maintenance (painting, patching, basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical (changing bulbs etc.).
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of school facilities including classrooms, offices, restrooms and common areas.
  • Liaise and coordinate with external contractors for specialised repairs and installations.
  • Work closely with school staff to address maintenance issues and ensure minimal disruption to school activities.
  • Emergency cleaning when required. 
  • Pick up items as required and/or to move equipment to and from school events.
  • Assistance with gardening may be required at times.
  • Assistance with gardening and mowing may be required at times.
  • Set up and pack down of chairs and stage in the hall.
  • Other duties as directed by the Principal.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Well-developed inter-personal skills with students, parents and staff, and a helpful, cooperative approach to work requests.
  • Approx. 3-5 years’ experience working within repair and maintenance roles.
  • Proven ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative to manage the upkeep of the school.
  • High level of attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and multitask.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety precautions, standards and practices.

  • Trade Qualification.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as a child related work and therefore a working with children clearance is required prior to your commencement with us.
