A temporary part time parental leave replacement position commencing 16 March 2026 until 25 September 2026.

The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
  • Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.
  • Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in modern languages (Italian).
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.
  • Implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
  • Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.

DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Languages K–10 Syllabus developed by the NSW Education Standards Authority, with the ability to plan and deliver engaging, sequential and developmentally appropriate Italian language programs for K–6 students. 
  • Capacity to create engaging, communicative and culturally rich language learning environments that develop students’ listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in Italian. 

The following GENERAL CAPABILITIES are applicable to the role:

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organisational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate qualifications for teaching Primary K–6.
  • Accredited Level D to teach Religious Education in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
  • The applicant must be accredited with NESA to teach in NSW.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE

This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
