THE OPPORTUNITY

The Executive Director of Schools invites applicants from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this permanent full-time position of Manager, Risk and Accreditation with Catholic Education, Diocese of Wollongong.

Reporting to the Director of Governance, Assurance and Risk, this position exists to ensure that key internal and regulatory requirements are being appropriately managed and met, as well as reviewing governance, compliance criteria and requirements.

YOUR IMPACT

You will be responsible for:

  • Modelling Catholic values in the provision of compliance services within Catholic Education in the Diocese of Wollongong
  • Assisting the Director and other members of the GAR Team in the overall assurance that Catholic Education, Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) and schools comply with all registration and accreditation requirements
  • Leading the development and oversight of the GAR Risk Team in ensuring system compliance obligations are met
  • Liaising with the Office of the Executive Director regarding relevant items for the Diocesan Schools Council
  • Supporting Responsible Persons with their various legislative, management and operational responsibilities that relate to proper governance
  • Representing CEDoW's interests on various CSNSW committees
  • Developing and maintaining an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Tertiary (degree level) qualifications in a relevant field
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of risk in a complex environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of NSW school registration and accreditation requirements
  • High-level communication skills (written and verbal) with a proven ability to present complex information to leadership teams and governance bodies
  • Sound analytical skills and problem-solving capability
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, judgement and discretion
  • Demonstrated experience in senior school or education system leadership roles is highly desirable
