THE OPPORTUNITY
The Executive Director of Schools invites applicants from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this permanent full time position of Senior Advisor School Infrastructure Planning.
Reporting to the Senior Manager School Infrastructure Program, this position exists to support the development of sustainable, high quality contemporary learning environments, places and precincts in which learning environments can thrive through a Catholic mission lens.
YOUR IMPACT
Responsibilities include:
- Lead the master plan, initiation and design development phases of major school infrastructure projects
- Ensure a smooth transition of approved projects through the design, procurement and delivery phases in partnership with the Schools Infrastructure Delivery Manager
- Perform property and land due diligence and secure appropriate land zoning and planning controls for existing property to accommodate forecast educational requirements
- Lead the procurement and engagement of consulting expertise to assist in planning and provisioning school infrastructure
- Develop business cases for proposed new developments and property acquisitions
- Monitor 3rd party (local councils, Dept Planning NSW, DoE NSW) planning and development activities for inclusion into Catholic Education, Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) Infrastructure planning and provisioning plans
- Contributes to the development of the multi-year forward infrastructure capital plan
- Conduct regular evaluations and reviews of infrastructure project planning outcomes and recommend improvements, through Design and Post Occupancy Evaluations
- Provide facilities planning and planning controls advice to the School Properties Office team, school leaders and CEDoW service area leaders
SELECTION CRITERIA
- Bachelor’s Degree in Urban/Town Planning, Architecture, Project Management, Asset Management, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in urban planning, property development or school facility planning and design
- Demonstrated experience leading facility design projects across a portfolio
- Proven experience in infrastructure planning or asset management.
- Contemporary knowledge of the legislative requirements relevant to the planning and development of schools
- School infrastructure development experience
- Knowledge and skills experience relevant to NSW Educational Facilities Standards and Guidelines, and school infrastructure development are desirable
