  • Band 7, salary from $108,024 + superannuation (pro rata) 
  • Parental leave cover based at the Civic Centre

About the Position

Help build the capability of the organisation to plan, implement and evaluate community engagement and research activities to ensure stakeholders have meaningful input into decisions that affect them.

This role is responsible for establishing policy, guidelines and tools to support effective community engagement and research practices and providing advice on community engagement plans and research briefs.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to assess context, identify potential issues and strategically plan and adjust approach accordingly
  • Knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate experience in stakeholder management, including the identification of target audiences and their specific requirements in engagement practices.
  • Experience applying the IAP2 framework and selecting and implementing the most effective community engagement techniques for the situation to facilitate desired outcomes.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks and provide strategic and technical advice on community engagement approaches to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated analytical, research and problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement solutions to challenging problems.
  • Well-developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to establish team priorities, implementing improvements and planning and organising work to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Experience in assessing capability and developing and implementing a plan to build capability, including coordinating formal training, mentoring and peer support
