Position Status: Permanent Full-Time position (Monday – Friday 8.00am – 4.00pm)

Description

 

Patrician Brothers’ College, Blacktown is a vibrant and future focused Catholic school. The College is seeking a Library Technician to support the operation of the Resource Centre.

The position is primarily based in the Resource Centre of the College.

 

The Library Technician is accountable for:

 

  • Supervising students in non-teaching periods
  • Supervising groups of students other than in a classroom situation, including taking
    responsibility for the library if no teacher librarian is present or playground supervision if an agreement has been reached
  • Receiving, issuing, distributing, stock-taking and safeguarding of teaching resources, goods, supplies, materials and equipment, other than dangerous goods
  • Providing technical assistance in the operation of a library, laboratory or technology centre.

Typical Experience and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in the relevant area of study
  • Appropriate demonstrated experience

  • Ability to work effectively with an established team.
  • Work effectively with colleagues in implementing the aims and practices of the Resource Centre and College.

  • Child Protection legislation applies, including a current Working with Children Check.
