GENERAL ASSISTANT - GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

3 days - 6 hrs per day (18 hrs per week)

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain cleanliness of college grounds and outdoor facilities - picking up rubbish, sweeping, raking, blowing leaves 
  • Meet deliveries and distribute parcels, boxes and incoming supplies to the relevant locations
  • Set up for college assemblies, functions and other activities
  • General cleaning and washing down of facilities
  • Collect, empty and clean bins
  • General gardening & weeding
  • Minor repairs and maintenance
  • Liaise with contractors and ensure safe work practices
  • Participate in team and staff meetings and College events when requested
  • Any other duties as determined by the Business Manager

Essential Criteria

Successful applicants for the position will:

  • maintain a current Working with Children Check.
  • hold a current drivers' licence.
  • demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • have demonstrated ability to follow directions, prioritise and meet set deadlines.
  • have basic computer skills including internet, email & smartphone.

Desirable:

  • relevant certificate or trade qualifications.
  • appropriate demonstrated experience in school operations.
