Are you an experienced collections professional who leads with empathy and is passionate about making a difference? Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese is seeking a Family Assistance Officer to join our School Fees Liaison Unit on a permanent full-time basis.

This role is about more than just managing payments — it’s about supporting families through financial challenges while helping ensure every child has access to a Catholic education. 

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Family Assistance Officer, you’ll be part of a supportive team of five and manage a portfolio of schools and families. Your goal is to help families meet their financial commitments in a way that is respectful, fair, and aligned with our values.

In this role, you will contribute to a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Working with families experiencing financial hardship to find practical, compassionate solutions

  • Managing school fee collections and debt enquiries within a designated portfolio

  • Maintaining clear and empathetic communication with families, school principals, and finance staff

  • Identifying financial hardship, recommending payment plans, and debt resolutions to support student retention

  • Supporting the continuous improvement of our school fee liaison processes

About You

  • Experience in collections, credit, financial hardship, or a related field

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a calm, empathic approach

  • A genuine commitment to helping everyday families navigate difficult financial situations

  • Confidence in managing conversations about debt while maintaining trust and dignity

  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment

  • A current Working With Children Check (Paid Employee)
