About the opportunity:

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience working with a broad range of IT Security solutions such as web and email services, networking, cloud environments, EDR/XDR, data protection; MDM, identity and access management, backup.

The consultant will work in line with IT Security frameworks including ACSC Essential Eight, ISO 27001, NIST and ITIL. Respective experience and knowledge will ideally be supported by relevant IT Security certifications, e.g. from ISC2, ISACA, GIAC, CompTIA, Microsoft, IT Security vendors.

Key accountabilities:

  • Offering specialist advice and supporting the delivery of the Information Security projects. Focusing on uplifting the maturity of CSPDs IT environment, initially in the spaces of endpoint management, application control and vulnerability management.
  • Developing documentation and communications regarding IT Security solutions, changes, improvements and impacts.
  • Assisting with the implementation and testing of IT security controls within the IT environment in alignment with architectural guidelines and operational needs.
  • Assisting with maintenance, administration and operations of various Information Security controls including but not limited to technical assessments of new applications and services entering the CSPD IT environment, and Security Awareness Training.
  • Identifying opportunities for task automation and recommending improvements to enhance security operations, controls and configurations.

Typical experience and qualifications:  

  • 5+ years of experience in an IT Security role
  • Experience working with various IT Security solutions including but not limited to Web, Email, Network, Cloud, Endpoint, data protection; mobile device management, Identity and Access management, backups.
  • Experience of IT Security frameworks: ACSC Essential Eight, ISO 27001, NIST as well as ITIL. Respective experience and knowledge will ideally be supported by relevant IT Security certifications, e.g. from ISC2, ISACA, GIAC, CompTIA, Microsoft, IT Security vendors
  • Strong skills in stakeholder management
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and deal with ambiguity and complexity
  • Ability to identify and prioritise business needs, risks, and opportunities 
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
