St Patrick’s Primary, Blacktown is seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Officer to join our team in a permanent role, working 60 hours per fortnight. This role supports the operational services of the school, including cleaning, building maintenance, and grounds upkeep.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Carrying out non-specialised repair and maintenance work.

• Undertaking general gardening tasks, including preparation and planting procedures.

• Operating, maintaining, and adjusting turf machinery under general supervision.

• Applying fertilisers, fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides under general supervision.

• Responding to alarms, following emergency procedures, preparing incident reports, and securing school buildings.

• Assisting qualified tradespersons in building and furniture maintenance.

• Performing other duties as requested by the Principal and/or Principal’s Delegate, which may include operating the school’s security system at the beginning or end of shifts.

• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Can follow direction, prioritise tasks, and meet set deadlines.

• Have strong interpersonal skills for working with a range of staff and community members.

• Support the mission, teachings, and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in schools.

• Experience and Qualifications

• No trade qualification (Certificate III) is required; however, applicants must have skills, training, or experience relevant to the duties outlined.
