St Patrick’s Primary, Blacktown is seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance Officer to join our team in a permanent role, working 60 hours per fortnight. This role supports the operational services of the school, including cleaning, building maintenance, and grounds upkeep.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Carrying out non-specialised repair and maintenance work.
Undertaking general gardening tasks, including preparation and planting procedures.
Operating, maintaining, and adjusting turf machinery under general supervision.
Applying fertilisers, fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides under general supervision.
Responding to alarms, following emergency procedures, preparing incident reports, and securing school buildings.
Assisting qualified tradespersons in building and furniture maintenance.
Performing other duties as requested by the Principal and/or Principal’s Delegate, which may include operating the school’s security system at the beginning or end of shifts.

Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Can follow direction, prioritise tasks, and meet set deadlines.
Have strong interpersonal skills for working with a range of staff and community members.
Support the mission, teachings, and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in schools.
Experience and Qualifications
No trade qualification (Certificate III) is required; however, applicants must have skills, training, or experience relevant to the duties outlined.
