About the opportunity:
We are currently seeking an experienced, full-time Head of IT Infrastructure and Operations Platform (Permanent) to lead the strategic direction and delivery of end-user computing, hosting, and network services across the organisation. The Head of IT Infrastructure and Operations Platform is accountable for the delivery of infrastructure and end user support and enabling technology, as well as supporting the delivery and embedding of service management best practice across the organisation. This role is expected to lead the engineering and operations of infrastructure and end user services, including the service desk and support. This role will also be required to support certain out-of-hours emergencies..
Key Accountabilities:
Defining and executing the Technology Workplan in relation to the IT Infrastructure and Operations Platform – working with the business, and across the technology service functions, to ensure successful delivery of outcomes
Leading the design, development and implementation of the IT Infrastructure and Operations Platform Roadmap, ensuring that it adheres to the Technology Strategy and Roadmaps of CSPD
Leading the creation of policies, procedures and guidelines related to the IT Infrastructure and Operations platform services
Leading the development and implementation of processes for quality assurance and continuous improvement in the execution of infrastructure, end user services and service management processes
Managing the service lifecycle of infrastructure and end user service systems, from product design and development to deployment, support and ongoing optimisation
Implementing and enforcing service management best practices to deliver high-quality infrastructure and end user services
Overseeing the engineering and operations of the infrastructure and end user applications, including network, compute storage, hosting and end user communication solutions and applications
Overseeing the service desk to deliver exceptional end-user support, promoting efficient resolution and service quality
Implementing and maintain robust incident recovery protocols to ensure business continuity
Performing risk management and governance activities for workplace and infrastructure technologies, including tasking mitigating and escalating actions where appropriate
Supporting change management activities relating to infrastructure and workplace technologies across the business to enable best practices
Implementing and enforcing processes for efficient asset and configuration management of all infrastructure and workplace technology
Implementing and managing comprehensive monitoring systems to track performance, identify potential issues, and ensure service availability
Ensuring the IT Infrastructure and Operations Platform adhere to relevant regulations, security protocols, and CSPD’ s established governance frameworks
Typical experience and qualifications:
Collaborating closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into effective technology solutions
Acting as a business partner to organisational leaders, providing insights and recommendations to enhance technology-driven initiatives
Leading and implementing effective planning and change methodologies for efficient project execution
Communicating platform updates, milestones, and potential challenges to relevant stakeholders
Collaborating with other platform leads to ensure a unified and coordinated approach to platform development across the organisation
Building and leading a high-performing platform team.
Stakeholder management experience in a complex organisational setting
Strong negotiation, conflict management and interpersonal skills
Deep experience in managing an enterprise IT Service Management platform
