The opportunity

We are offering an exciting opportunity for two Student Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) to join our school community in a temporary basis working 60 hours per fortnight for the 2026 school year. As an SLSO, you will play an essential role in supporting the learning, wellbeing, and inclusion of students, working in close collaboration with teachers and other staff to help every student achieve their full potential.

Our ideal candidates will be compassionate, patient, and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students. You will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and a genuine commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.

 

About the role

Reporting to the school leadership team and classroom teachers, the SLSO will:

  • Assist students with their learning, development, and wellbeing needs.

  • Provide in-class support under the direction of teachers.

  • Support students with additional needs to participate in school life.

  • Contribute to the creation of an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment.

  • Undertake administrative and resource preparation tasks as directed by teachers.

 

What you will bring

  • Relevant qualifications in education support (or working towards) or equivalent experience in a school or similar setting.

  • A genuine passion for supporting student learning and inclusion.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

  • Patience, flexibility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team.
