Located in Blacktown, St Michael’s is a large four stream co-educational Catholic school committed to providing a comprehensive education from Kindergarten to Year 6. About the opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Primary teacher to work on a temporary full-time basis to start Term 1, 2026. We are currently seeking a dynamic and energetic teacher with the relevant NESA accreditation. This is a fantastic opportunity to create engaging and creative learning environments in a supportive and fulfilling community.  

The Primary K-6 Teacher will fit the following criteria:

  • Understand contemporary pedagogical approaches for primary years learners

  • Knowledge on how to structure lessons to meet the physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of students. Strong teachers have extensive knowledge of the content and sequence of Key Learning Areas - including Religious Education.

  • Creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive and challenging learning environment and implementing fair and equitable behaviour management plans

  • Interpreting and using student assessment data to diagnose barriers to learning and to challenge students to improve their performance

  • Effectively managing the learning cycle, including planning for learning and assessment, developing learning programs, teaching, assessing, providing feedback on student learning and reporting to parents/carers

  • Be open to growth and development through professional learning experiences which include practice analysis conversations, classroom observations and input from instructional coaches.

  • Engaging with our school community within and beyond the classroom to enrich the educational context for students

Qualifications and Accreditations:

  • Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation – Working with Children Check

  • Accreditation with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete)

  • Statements of Service (where applicable)
