About the role
Reporting to the GM of Planning, this role will require that you will have great communication skills and be an analytical thinker to assist and support the buying team to deliver your departments strategic and performance objectives, whilst also mentoring and developing your allocator.
What You Will Be Doing
- Build financial targets that support overall business requirements
- Execute post seasonal and strategic plans on a half yearly basis with the buyer aligned to company strategy and objectives
- Develop options plans that deliver the strategic plans in a timely manner
- Analyse and manage margin mix through stock turn, GMROI, assortment mix, markdown program and marketing program in consultation with the buyer to deliver financial targets
- Work with buyers to ensure promotional activity delivers the financial plan
- Review merchandise and financial performance weekly with buyer and agree on forward actions to deliver financial targets
- Monthly in season review of department performance with senior leadership team
- In conjunction with the buyer, ensure the best end cost to the business for the delivery of product
- Establish and manage item plans for imports and local ongoing lines, to effectively manage stock flow to stores and optimise inventory investment to DC and Stores
- Determine and maintain replenishment parameters managed to optimise inventory in core products
- Coach, guide and develop your allocator in line with business goals
- Ensure adherence to allocation guidelines and principles to manage stock to sales ratio, individual store forward weeks cover, stock turn, GMROI and return on floor space
About You
- Must have 3 years Planning experience within the retail space, preferably with an apparel background
- Must have advanced Excel skills
- SAP and Micro Strategies experience will be highly regarded
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritise and high attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
