About the Role

The Commercial Specialist – NI/TMF Legal & Investigations is responsible for the end-to-end management of assigned Workers Compensation Treasury Managed Fund (TMF) and Nominal Insurer (NI) schemes third party service provider (TPSP) portfolios/categories and contracts.

Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Commercial Specialist – Legal & Investigations you will:

  • Maintain a constant emphasis on the core vision of icare, that is make the complex simple so our schemes deliver better outcomes for those we serve.
  • Be responsible for and own the performance of the assigned portfolios/categories by defining the portfolios’/categories’ role within icare, developing value propositions and provide trusted, expert advice through gathering and analysing data, attending industry forums and understanding supplier capabilities.
  • Lead the optimisation of the performance of the assigned categories through the identification and implementation of innovative trials, championing continuous improvement with stakeholders and suppliers and applying robust interrogation of performance data to establish a true performance landscape.
  • Develop and implement strategic portfolio/category plans and initiatives to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate providers to optimise service outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder and supplier relationships through formal and informal channels to understand required business outcomes, gain industry intelligence and provide expert recommendations to suppliers and business stakeholders on performance issues and identify area’s of potential efficiencies.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated extensive experience in portfolio/category management or equivalent in a large and complex service industry organisation.
  • Minimum 5 years’ portfolio/category management experience or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of portfolio/category and stakeholder/supplier relationship management.
  • Ability to analyse data and develop accurate conclusions to support the assigned portfolios/categories.
  • A willingness to understand the market and develop recommendations based on intelligence, insights and trends.
  • NSW Government Procurement experience.
  • Experience in delivering portfolio/category management activities that are fully consistent with all relevant NSW Government legislative, probity and policy requirements.
  • Knowledge of SIRA and APRA regulations.

Desirable

  • Degree or other relevant qualifications in law.
