About the Role

Provide advice and deliver crucial insurance coverage to homeowners in the event a contractor is unable to honour their commitments due to insolvency, death, disappearance or the licence suspension of builders.

Provides the best customer experience to homeowners whilst achieving the Home Building Compensation Fund (HBCF) objectives

Provides support and guidance to fellow team members to assist their development

Duties

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Senior Claims Officer you will:

  • Develop strong customer relationships and provide a high level of customer service.
  • Manage Home Building Compensation Fund (HBCF) claims end to end with adherence to HBCF service standards, company guidelines and delegated authority.
  • Be responsible for making quality decisions on complex, high value claims whilst providing timely, high quality customer service for both homeowners and HBCF
  • Build and develop external business relationships.
  • Provide accurate and complete information that is consistent and easy to understand including options about any claim, entitlements, obligations and responsibilities.
  • Work with the team by sharing information, knowledge and resources to achieve the best possible outcomes for all
  • Attend client meetings where necessary

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum four (4) years experience in Home Warranty (preferable) or other lines of insurance such as  personal injury, life insurance, workers compensation working end to end on large loss claims management
  • Understanding of State legislation and regulatory framework
  • Strong level of interpersonal skills with an ability and desire to work as part of a team
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word/ Excel)
