Pivotal support role in icare’s Stakeholder Relations and Policy Team

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager to join the Line 2 Risk and Compliance team within icare’s Risk & Governance function. In this Line 2 role, you will guide and support policy owners and subject-matter experts (SMEs) in the development or update of risk management and compliance frameworks and policies that are fit for purpose and support icare’s strategic objectives. You will work closely with the Head of Frameworks & Reporting, as the owner of the Policy Governance Framework, to lead and support its uplift and its underlying processes to embed an accountable risk culture. Additionally, you will provide back-up data analytics and dashboarding support to the Reporting Analyst. You will analyse and interpret data and provide high-quality risk insights for executive and Board-level committee reporting.

Duties
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as icare’s Manager, Frameworks & Reporting, you will:
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Policy Governance Framework (PGF) and lifecycle and its associate processes and assist in its ongoing update and maintenance. Provide accurate and timely advice to policy owners and SMEs.
Improve and implement PGF processes, processes, procedures and tools that support delivery of high-quality advice. Consult with the community of policy owners and authors to ensure effective communication.
Act as the Policy Governance contact across icare to support the execution of the Policy Governance Framework.
Maintain accurate knowledge of the diverse and complex suite of frameworks and policies within Risk and Compliance.
Monitor changes in legislation and industry standards and government policy requirements affecting both Risk & Compliance policies and frameworks while supporting an icare-wide perspective.
Perform research and identify policy issues and potential solutions.
Manage the tracking and reporting of the Risk & Governance policy register with assistance from the Business Support & Reporting Specialist
Guide and support the policy document lifecycle across the Risk & Governance function for R&C policies and frameworks and drive their document quality and consistency.
Guide and apply a policy lens to R&C policy SMEs to update and develop appropriate policies that align to strategic objectives.
Ensure risk and compliance considerations are incorporated into policy advice and policy reviews.
Guide and support the wider Risk & Governance function in developing, updating and reviewing policy documents.
Engage with policy owners and authors to consult on policy-related issues by applying best-practice methodologies to identify and suggest solutions and make recommendations.
Ensure R&C policy and framework content is well-written and consistent. Contribute to the finalisation of documents for review and submission for approval using advanced Word functionality.
Draft assigned sections for policies, frameworks and templates, particularly reusable text that can used across policy documents.
Contribute to the update and maintenance of key R&G reports and dashboards.
Provide general support to the Risk & Governance team for collation of key risk and governance data and information to achieve business requirements, objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Prepare high-quality written reports / briefs to inform senior management, Group Executives and Board Directors about new, updated, or unchanged frameworks and policies as needed.
Analyse data and collate information for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes.
Develop, analyse and interpret policy indicators to evaluate policy effectiveness and make recommendations for ongoing improvement. Leverage Line 2 Assurance team to review both the effectiveness of the R&C frameworks and policies and the business units’ adherence to them.
Contribute to the development of supporting infrastructure and processes for policy implementation.
Skills & Experience
Tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, risk management or a related discipline.
Minimum 7 -10 years working in either Risk Management, Audit, Governance, Legal or Compliance within financial services including banking and insurance.
Demonstrated experience as a subject-matter expert in design and drafting of risk management policies and frameworks, standards and tools.
Strong attention-to-detail balanced with an ability to consider the bigger picture.
Critical thinking ability and an analytical and innovative mindset
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
High-level stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
Excellent reporting and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver clear insights to key stakeholders.
Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word (formatting using styles, editing and proofreading) and PowerPoint skills; Experience with data analytics and dashboarding tools (Power Query and Power Bi essential)
Self- starter who can manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
