Who we’re looking for:
As our Environmental Advisor - Compliance & Reporting, you are passionate about driving environmental innovation and using data to identify opportunities for improvement. You are a strong communicator and work collaboratively with the project team and external stakeholders to promote best practices in environmental compliance. With your strong understanding of environmental management and sustainability principles within the construction industry, you will:
- Evaluate compliance against contractual requirements and environmental requirements and articulate this to the project team
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental plans, strategies, and procedures
- Assess and maintain performance of environmental assessments and reporting
- Manage and coordinate project environmental auditing requirements under the project’s Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP), Environmental Performance Requirements (EPRs), and contractual obligations
- Coordinate the production and update of EMP’s, including the Environmental Strategy, CEMP, and EPR Plans
- Manage internal and external audits such as Company Audits (Business Unit, ISO 14001, etc.)
- Evaluate compliance against project contractual and environmental requirements, articulating your findings in meetings, audits, and management presentations.
- Develop response measures with the Project Team
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with:
- Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Environmental Science/ Engineering or related discipline
- Lead Auditor Training - ISO 14001 (highly regarded)
- 6+ years in civil construction in environmental management
- Prior experience on major civil projects (Transport, Water, Defence) highly regarded
- Proven ability to drive a consistent approach across project teams in EPR compliance and implementation
- Excellent organisation and coordination skills
