About the role

As the National Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing leadership in establishing and maintaining effective and sustainable Health, Safety and Environmental policies and practices across BMD.  This is a national role, reporting to the Group Safety Manager, with the option to be based in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth or Melbourne. 

You will:

  • collaborate with BMD Group stakeholders, Regional Safety Managers, Safety/Environmental Coordinators and the Safety function to drive continued improvement in the HSEQ systems and platforms
  • coordinate the Integrated Management System (IMS) content updates and coordinate user acceptance testing for system changes
  • facilitate sprint teams, prepare pre-reads and post-session summaries for participants and stakeholders across the business
  • ensure changes land smoothly, are well communicated and genuinely make work easier and safer for our people
  • support the design and rollout of training resources (e.g. user guides, FAQs, toolbox talks) to aid adoption of updated IMS content
  • capture frontline feedback, audit findings and incident learnings to drive system improvements

Skills and experience

  • Certificate or tertiary qualification in WHS, Business, Change Management or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of content management systems (SharePoint) and basic data visualisation tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI).
  • A collaborative spirit with the ability to contribute to impactful initiatives
  • Solid understanding of stakeholder engagement strategies, best practices, and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication; able to translate technical detail into plain language.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
